Collection: Pauillac

Pauillac is the centre of the world's best Cabernet Sauvignon wines. The town itself has around 5,000 inhabitants and is located directly on the Gironde. The fame of this appellation is based on the fact that three of the five Premier Crus can be found here. With 18 classified estates, Pauillac is just behind Margaux.

Powerful, concentrated and long-lasting wines come from Pauillac on the left bank of the Gironde ("rive gauche"). This terroir, ideal for Cabernet Sauvignon, with deep gravel soils and proximity to the Gironde River, has produced world-famous wines that have matured for many decades.

In addition to the three Premier Crus, 1,200 hectares of vineyards are home to 15 classified estates, including Lynch-Bages and the two Pichon-Longueville estates. For some of these estates, the classification does not correspond to the actual quality. Pontet-Canet, for example, is a 5ème Cru, but has been approaching the quality of the Premiers for several years.
